I just had to send a note before going to bed tonight.......When my Weissenborn came earlier today, I left it in the box for a number of hours until later this evening since it had been out in the cold and dampness (upstate New York is nothing like Hawaii in December, believe me--I've been both places!) and I wanted to give it some time to acclimate. (It was awfully hard, but I knew it was the right thing to do!) When I opened it tonight, I was a very happy camper! What a beautiful instrument you made. And the full, mellow sound of mahogany is magnificent! As we all know, every guitar has its own sound: I have a few Martins, a Taylor 12-string, and some cheaper guitars, and every one is an individual. When I hit that first open D chord on this instrument tonight, my mind immediately jumped to a statement Cindy Cashdollar made about her genuine 1927 Weissenborn--the sound "shimmers" like the air currents you see rising off of a hot asphalt road on a still summer day. You, sir, have captured that "shimmer" in this instrument! Many years ago my wife became handicapped, and with working and caring for her, I haven't touched a slide guitar (other than a few minutes) since the 1960's. When she passed into Glory about a year and a half ago, I decided it was time to start playing more again. (I play at the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin--not all that great at any of them but I enjoy it. Utterly failed at the banjo.). Frankly, it feels a bit like I have to start over, but I was able to get a couple of half-decent tunes out of the Weissenborn this evening. Thank you for an instrument that sounds magnificent and doesn't cost $5,000! You've given a lot of enjoyment to an old man already! Great experience with kaka'ako ukuleles especially since it was my first purchase from them. I wasn’t sure what to expect or what condition was the ukelele going to arrive. The ukelele arrived sooner then I expected and in perfect shape. Also I’m so glad Matthew was able to give me a great deal so that I could get the hard case instead of a soft carrying case I’ve seen at the local music store. Thanks Mathew ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently was lucky enough to acquire a Weissenborn guitar from Kaka'ako Instruments. Had to wait for it but the wait was worth it. The instrument is quality from start to finish. Beautiful inlays, attractive choice of solid mahogany back, sides, and top, with rope binding all around. The fit and finish is perfect from all angles. Then there is the sound. It is crisp and clear and resonant. I have researched Weissenborns from the USA, England, and Australia and the Kaka'ako instrument , for the price, is above them all in quality and sound. The case it came in is superior to most cases available on the net. They provided 2 day free shipping which is unusual. Matthew Nigro is very accommodating and has provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend Kaka'ako Instruments as a place to acquire a quality instrument at a very fair price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful instruments. I purchased a spruce top concert uke. Looks and plays great.
Very vibrant , bright sound. Great sustain. Tunes easily and stays in tune. Great value.

Two beginner ukes for my grandchildren because of the quality and value of my concert.

So if you have not heard of Kaka'ako Instruments, you definitely will. The instruments are some of the highest quality Ukuleles on the market, without a steep pricetag. I ordered myself a Concert K2 Acacia, and in comparison to my other Brand Ukes, it just became my #1 to Gig with. It has such a sweet tone and my K&K Aloha Twin Pickup just really brings out the natural tones of the Acacia. So thrilled, yes I had to go ahead and buy myself the Spruce Top, which wow huge sound. Wow! What a Beautiful Instrument! I received the Acacia K1 Ukulele in the mail all the way to Wichita! It got here super fast, and I was impressed with the quality and the sound. Purchased for my daughter. Super nice on the phone. Answered my questions. Told me options for shipping, etc.Ordered the concert K2. It is as beautiful in person as on their website. Great craftsmanship. Made from 100% acacia wood. No veneers here. The sound is absolutely amazing! She is welcome to visit the shop with any questions or problems should they arise. It was shipped from Hawaii to the mainland. Packaged well and completely ready to be played upon arrival. They did an awesome job setting it up. Momma is happy and daughter is too.
